FIND THE PERFECT PLACE TO CALL HOME

What Buyers Can Expect

Buying a home, or any type of real estate, is a fun and exciting experience - as long as you have someone guiding you through the multitude of jargon-laden steps. As your Red 1 Realty Realtor®, my goal is to make the whole process easier while maximizing the chances we find the perfect fit for you.

So, let’s start by walking through what you might expect on your journey to purchase property — just click through the icons below.

Time to Go Shopping

At last! It’s time to find the right property for you.

Take a Drive, Bike or Walk

Start by getting to know the neighborhoods, complexes, or subdivisions which interest you. Drive around and get a feel for what it would be like to own a property in the area. Start getting a sense of the available properties. Check out the area at different times of day to see what’s going on. Walking and biking can provide the opportunity to take in more details and talk with potential neighbors.

Narrow Your Search

As your Real Estate Agent, I’m able to leverage our database to use your wish list to start looking broadly for properties. Select several that interest you the most and let’s go see them! This will give everyone a better idea of your likes and dislikes for future property tours. As we go, I’ll send email updates to you about what’s new to the market, coming soon, or have had a recent price drop - and will be ready to go look at property when you are!

Use Your House Hunting Checklist to Compare Properties

Bring a copy of your house hunting checklist with you, and for each property, rank each item from 1 to 4 (with 1 being terrible and 4 being amazing), reviewing the interior, exterior, community and overall impression/love factor.  Be sure to complete it as you go, as it’s easy for properties to start blurring into each other. Snap some photos, too, if you’d like!

Compare “the scores” across properties to understand which are front runners and why. Your agent should be able to discuss fair market value and the potential long term resale value of the properties you are considering. Use these insights to help facilitate conversations with any co-buyers/partners and to make your investment decision.

Time to Buy

A good agent will investigate the potential costs and expenses associated with the new property, along with market and potential resale value, to help you determine a fair and savvy offer. This can be a nail-biting time involving a lot of players, so heed your agent’s advice about how to draft your offer in a way that gives you the advantage over others. If all goes well, soon you’ll be hearing from your agent about getting to closing. If your offer isn’t accepted, don’t despair, your Real Estate Agent will help you keep looking until the right match is made.
